「えじこ・えずこ」
　昔、農作業中に、赤ん坊を籠に入れておく週間がありました。
　籠に入った赤ん坊の様子を表したのが、この形です。
"Eji-ko" or "Ezu-ko"
　There was a week when the baby was put in the basket
　 in the labour for farming in old times.
　It is this shape to have shown the appearance of the baby
　who entered the basket.

「ねまりこ」
　子供が座っている様子です。
　「ねまる」という言葉は「座る」と同じ意味です。
"Nemari-ko
　The child seems to be sitting. Word "Nemaru" is
　the same meaning , saying that "Sit".
